Sobrado Dr. José Lourenço (Two stories house Dr. José Lourenço)

Built in the second half of the 19th century to serve as a residence and office of the sanitarist physician Dr. José Lourenço de Castro Silva (1808-1874), the Sobrado was opened to the public in 2007 after having undergone a careful restoration work. The building, which today retains the splendor of its beginnings, was the first three-story building in Ceará. With exhibition rooms, an auditorium and a café, the space was conceived as a cultural center dedicated to the experience and the promotion of the visual arts of the state.
