Santander Cultural
Built by the Banco Nacional do Comércio (National Bank of Commerce) between 1927 and 1932, the building of Santander Cultural was home to several financial institutions. In eclectic style, the building was declared a historical and artistical heritage site of the state in 1987 and since 2000 has been restored to host the Santander Cultural. Engaged with the production of knowledge as well as encouraging artists and local initiatives focused on a broad cultural and artistic promotion, the venue has daily film sessions, weekly concerts, visual art exhibitions throughout the year and permanent workshops cycles.
