Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo)
Specialized in visual arts from the nineteenth century until the contemporary, the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (Pinacoteca of the State of São Paulo) has a collection of about 9,000 pieces. It is an Italian neo-renaissance architectural project designed by Ramos de Azevedo office and founded in 1905. It features works by Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti, Victor Brecheret, Lasar Segall and Vicente do Rego Monteiro. The venue exhibits representative works of Brazilian painting history in the Coleção Brasiliana (Brasiliana Collection) - made up of works of Brazilianists - and the Coleção Modernista (Modernist Collection) from Nemirovsky, which are both highlights. The museum encourages and enhances the visitor’s experience with art.
