Parque Histórico Castro Alves (Historical Park Castro Alves)
Located in the city of Cabaceiras do Paraguaçu, the Parque Histórico Castro Alves (Historical Park Castro Alves) is a biographical museum dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of the life and work of poet Antônio Frederico de Castro Alves (1847-1871). The Park is installed at the former Farm Cabaceiras, where the poet was born, in an area of around 52,000 square meters. It was established in 1971 to celebrate the centenary of his death. Besides the museum, which keeps a collection of objects that belonged to Castro Alves and his family members, the Park has a multimedia room, an auditorium and a library. It also carries out various social and educational activities such as the project Conhecendo as Nascentes (Getting to know the Headwaters), Sarau no Parque (Performance in the Park) among others.
