Parque das Dunas (Dunes Park)
The Parque das Dunas (Dunes Park) was created in 1977 as Rio Grande do Norte’s conservation area and was recognized by UNESCO as part of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest Biosphere Reserve. The public area of the park, with approximately 7 hectares, is called Bosque dos Namorados (Valentine’s Forest) and houses a library, a research center, an exhibition hall, a children’s playground, nurseries and an artificial lake. The three options of Trilhas Interpretativas (Interpretative Hiking Trails) allow more adventurous visitors to get to know the dunes ecosystem, the park's fauna and flora in the company of expert guides. The native pau-brasil wood forest is an invite to contemplation.
