Palácio das Artes (The Fine Arts Palace)
Inaugurated in March 1971, the Palácio das Artes (The Fine Arts Palace) is a cultural complex, which encourages and promotes art and culture, providing a variety of experiences for visitors. The building's original project was designed by Oscar Niemeyer and adapted by the architect Hélio Ferreira Pinto. Located in the center of Belo Horizonte, it brings together various cultural spaces: the Grande Teatro (Grand Theatre), the Teatro João Ceschiatti (João Ceschiatti Theatre), the Sala Juvenal Dias (Juvenal Dias Hall), the Cine Humberto Mauro (Humberto Mauro Cinema), art galleries and the Centro de Formação Artística da Fundação Clóvis Salgado (Clóvis Salgado Foundation’s Artistic Training Center), which offers dance, theater and music courses.
