Oficina de Cerâmica Francisco Brennand (Francisco Brennand Ceramics Workshop)

Built from the ruins of the Velha Cerâmica São João da Várzea (Old Pottery São João da Várzea), founded by his father in 1917, the Pottery Workshop of sculptor and painter Francisco Brennand is a unique and unusual space, presenting itself as a sculptural complex whose meaning expresses his artistic and visionary sensitivity. The artist began his work in this space in the mid 1970s with a permanent exhibition of sculptures that later opened to the public. Currently, the workshop aims to preserve, research and disseminate the work of Francisco Brennand, harmoniously arranged for the indoor and outdoor areas of the art complex.
