In tune with the effort to preserve the memory of the construction of Brasília, this museum was opened together with the city on April 21, 1960 and was conceived to record the history of the transfer of the capital of Rio de Janeiro to the new seat for the federal government. This intention was put into practice by the purest form: built in reinforced concrete, the main feature of the building is the existence of texts written in its internal and external walls. From writings by President Juscelino Kubitschek (1902-1976) to texts and sayings of personalities on the internalization of the capital, the memory of this period gains contours through a rich panel of photographs.
