Museu do Teatro Amazonas (Amazon Theater Museum)
Established in 1991, the Museu do Teatro Amazonas (Amazon Theater Museum) looks after the furniture collection, sets, costumes and objects such as musical instruments, Chinese porcelains and British pitchers that have been gathered since the opening of the theater in 1896. Besides a stroll throughout the physical structure of the building, getting to know a bit of the history of its construction, the public is led to the first years of the theater by looking at the original plants and performance programs from the nineteenth century. The eclectic style, the details of its dome and its bold structure have made it the greatest symbol of the wealth of Manaus during the 'the rubber cycle'.
