It holds a collection mainly made of objects from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and its mission is to preserve and disseminate the history of mining activity in Minas Gerais during the monarchy period. Walking through the exhibition, visitors can see instruments used for the extraction and smelting of gold as well as artistic and cultural expressions of society of that time.
