<p><em>Museu de Ciências Naturais - PUC Minas</em> (Museum of Natural Sciences)</p>
<p>Created in 1983, the <em>Museu de Ciências Naturais - PUC Minas</em> (Museum of Natural Sciences - <em>PUC Minas</em>) is an interdisciplinary university space (PUC is the catholic university in <em>Minas Gerais</em>). It aims to stimulate the interest of visitors in the natural sciences and preserve the natural, historical and cultural Brazilian heritage. It keeps one of the major collections of mammal fossils of South America as well as current collections of Brazilian fauna, containing mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, especially species from the Brazilian savannah, the cerrado. In addition to the research in the field the museum staff participates in the University extension programs and develops scientific, educational and cultural activities with society.</p>
