Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo – MAM (São Paulo Museum of Modern Art)

Founded in 1948 by Francisco "Ciccillo" Matarazzo Sobrinho and Yolanda Penteado, the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (São Paulo Museum of Modern Art) is one of the most important cultural institutions in the country. Based since 1969 in the architectural complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer in Parque do Ibirapuera (Ibirapuera Park), it keeps over 5,000 works including paintings, drawings, photographs, installations and modernist and contemporary performances pieces. The permanent exhibition Jardim das Esculturas (Garden of Sculptures), conceived by Roberto Burle Marx, hosts about 30 three-dimensional works. Hélio Oiticica, Beatriz Milhazes and Wesley Duke Lee are some of the names that make up the collection.
