Opened for visitors in March 1971, the Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Paraná (Museum of Contemporary Art of Paraná) is housed in a 1928 building listed as a historical site by the State Historic and Artistic Heritage Institute. The collection, with works by established artists such as Roberto Burle Marx, Tomie Ohtake and Poty Lazzarotto, consists of over 1,500 works and covers the visual arts in its different expressions: paintings, drawings, engravings, sculptures, photographs, objects, tapestries, collages, installations and videos. The museum regularly organizes thematic exhibitions with its collections and also performs temporary individual and group exhibitions.
