Fundação Iberê Camargo (Iberê Camargo Foundation)
The Fundação Iberê Camargo (Iberê Camargo Foundation) was established in 1995, one year after the artist's death (1914-1994), in order to preserve and promote his work. Its headquarters, designed by architect Álvaro Siza, was inaugurated in 2008 and its collection houses over 5,000 works by the artist including paintings, gouache, drawings and prints. Besides stimulating the circulation and study of Iberê’s work, the Foundation hosts temporary exhibitions and promotes public interaction with art, culture and education by offering courses, workshops, seminars and other events. It is a place to get in touch with the work of this great artist and to reflect on contemporary art.
